Curitiba is the capital of Parana. The city was born on March 29, 1693. It was an Indian and Portuguese city in the 17th century. It was a European  city in the 19th century, with it's immigration at first the Germans, then Polish, Italians, Ukrainians and others.
Curitiba became a modern city in the 20th century by global planning as far as Agache Plan (1943), Master Plan (1965) and the Integration of urban functions and services. Curtiba has now important locations for cultural aktivities, leisure, the environment and transportation. Highlights are the Opera de Arame, the Botanical garden, the Open University for the Environment, the socalled Ligeirinho (fast bus) and the Biarticulate bus with modern glass and metal tube stations and also more than 25 parks and woods.
